Uzbekistan national team starts strong at World Chess Olympiad in Hungary

BUDAPEST, September 13. /Dunyo IA/. The World Chess Olympiad is taking place in Budapest from September 10 to 23, 2024, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

A delegation led by Alisher Sadullayev, Director of the Agency for Youth Affairs and Chairperson of the Chess Federation of Uzbekistan, is participating in the Olympiad.
The Uzbekistan national team features players Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Javohir Sindarov, Nodirbek Yakubboyev, Jahongir Vohidov and Shamsiddin Vohidov. They are competing for the championship title. The women’s team includes Afroza Hamdamova, Nilufar Yakubboyeva, Marjona Malikova, Nodira Nodirjonova and Umida Omonova.
The Embassy of our country in Hungary is providing ongoing support to the delegation.
On September 11, the Uzbekistan team had a successful start, with the men’s team defeating Trinidad and Tobago decisively, and the women’s team securing a strong win against Haiti.
On September 12, Alisher Sadullayev officially marked the opening of the second day of the 45th Chess Olympiad. The event was also attended by Ambassador of Uzbekistan Oybek Shakhavdinov.
On the second day, the women’s team triumphed over Angola, while the men’s team secured a victory against Egypt. Both teams from Uzbekistan achieved convincing wins.
