Preventive Engagement conducted with compatriots following special operation in the Czech Republic

Following a special operation conducted by law enforcement authorities in the Czech Republic, an extraordinary on-site preventive consular session was organized in connection with the detention of several fellow citizens employed in the passenger taxi transport sector, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The meeting, organized at the “Turkiston” Cultural Center, was attended by approximately 400 citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In the course of the special operation “Tax Cobra” - conducted by Czech law enforcement authorities within the taxi and on-demand passenger transport sector certain citizens of Uzbekistan were also detained.
Representatives of the Embassy engaged with fellow citizens in explanatory and preventive discussions focused on the imperative of strict compliance with the migration, labour, tax and transport legislation of the Czech Republic.
In particular, it was emphasized that when conducting activities via digital platforms such as “Uber”, “Bolt” and others, compliance with legal requirements is imperative, specifically regarding the acquisition of appropriate permits, the lawful formalization of employment relations and the fulfillment of tax obligations.
Furthermore, citizens were cautioned regarding the legal ramifications of unauthorized employment, the utilization of digital accounts registered to other individuals, the unauthorized transfer of personal data to third parties, the falsification of documents and involvement in unlawful intermediary schemes. It was specifically noted that such actions may result in administrative or criminal liability, the imposition of financial penalties, the revocation of migration status and subsequent deportation.
Diplomats stated that they continue to closely monitor the situation surrounding Operation “Daňová Kobra” (Tax Cobra) and emphasized that the guilt of any individual can be established exclusively by a judicial ruling, while citizens retain the right to legal defense and consular assistance.
It was also noted that citizens who encounter instances of unlawful employment, unfair practices by employers or intermediaries, financial pressure, or the unlawful withholding of identification documents may contact the Consular Section of the Embassy. Where necessary, they will be provided with initial consular and legal assistance, as well as appropriate guidance."
Participants of the meeting were informed that the Embassy provides a full range of services, including the issuance of passports, consular registration, the performance of notarial acts, as well as the issuance of certificates and various official documentation.
