HANGZHOU, April 3. /Dunyo IA/. On March 31, a solemn ceremony was held at Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport to launch a new air route between Tashkent and Hangzhou, operated by “Qanot Sharq” airlines, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The opening of the new flight is aimed at expanding the geography of air links between Uzbekistan and China, as well as increasing tourism and business exchanges between the two countries.
The event was attended by representatives of “Qanot Sharq” airlines, staff from the General Consulate of Uzbekistan, and the management of the Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport administration.
According to the information, flights will be operated twice a week: on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Earlier, in November 2024, flights on this route were already launched by “Uzbekistan Airways”, which continue to operate on a regular basis.
During the ceremony, representatives of the Chinese side emphasized that the launch of direct air service between Tashkent and Hangzhou opens up new opportunities for strengthening trade and economic cooperation, as well as for developing tourism and cultural exchange.
Hangzhou, as an important economic and technological hub in China, plays a key role in the e-commerce system. Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, which served over 50 million passengers in 2025, is among the world's largest aviation hubs and holds a leading position in East China.
It is emphasized that the new route is of great importance for the development of business ties, the expansion of logistical capabilities and the entry of entrepreneurs into new markets.
In turn, representatives of Uzbekistan noted that the launch of the flight creates additional conditions for boosting tourism flows. Citizens of Uzbekistan gain more convenient access to Chinese regions, while Chinese tourists will find it easier to explore Uzbekistan's rich cultural and historical heritage.
Furthermore, the opening of this route contributes to strengthening Tashkent's status as an international aviation hub, enhances its transit potential and expands transport connectivity between Europe and Asia.
