Agreement Signed in Shanghai to promote Uzbekistan’s Tourism Potential in China, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia

SHANGHAI, June 3. /Dunyo IA/. The delegation of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, led by Chairman Abdulaziz Akkulov, visited the city of Shanghai, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the visit, the delegation participated in the annual international tourism exhibition “ITB China 2026”, showcasing a stand dedicated to the country's tourism and cultural potential. Meetings were also held with a number of major companies in the industry.
The event was attended by around 600 companies from more than 80 countries, over 1,000 buyers, and 250 media representatives.
Uzbek tourism companies and air carriers participating in the exhibition presented their products and services at the national stand, while also conducting negotiations with representatives of Chinese travel agencies to establish mutual cooperation.
In addition, Abdulaziz Akkulov held a series of meetings with the management of Chinese airlines, major tour operators, and hotel chains.
With the aim of increasing the number of tourists from China, bilateral negotiations were held in Shanghai with the leaders of “Trip.com”, one of the largest international tour operator companies and “Spring Airlines”, a low-cost carrier.
During the meeting with the leadership of “Trip.com”, the parties discussed the further expansion of cooperation and the prospects of promoting Uzbekistan's tourism destinations on an international level.
Following the negotiations, an agreement was signed to promote Uzbekistan's tourism potential not only in China but also in the markets of Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
Furthermore, talks were held with the management of the Chinese hotel chain “Jinjiang Hotels”, during which the opening of hotels under this brand in Uzbekistan was discussed.
As a result of the meetings, an agreement was reached on an upcoming visit of representatives from these companies to Uzbekistan.
