Young Diplomats and Civil Servants from Central Asia participate in regional training in Ashgabat

• 74ASHGABAT, March 10. /Dunyo IA/. The second regional training for young diplomats and civil servants from Central Asian countries has begun in the capital of Turkmenistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event is organized in cooperation with the Government of Turkmenistan and the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office in Ashgabat. It brings together 25 participants from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
The objective of the training is to enhance the professional knowledge and skills of young diplomats and civil servants, including familiarizing them with the mandate and activities of the United Nations, as well as developing competencies in international relations and diplomacy. Furthermore, the event aims to strengthen friendly ties among the youth of Central Asian countries, promote regional solidarity and ensure sustainable development.
During the diplomatic courses, in addition to theoretical sessions, participants engage in simulated diplomatic negotiations, international situation analysis and interactive discussions. This will not only expand their knowledge but also develop key multilateral cooperation skills, which are an integral part of modern diplomatic service.
The solemn opening ceremony of the regional program was attended by Myahri Byashimova, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan; Dmitry Shlapachenko, UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan; heads and representatives of diplomatic missions in Ashgabat; specialists in international relations and diplomacy; as well as faculty and students.
In her speech, Myahri Byashimova elaborated on Turkmenistan’s foreign and youth policies, the support provided to young specialists and the system for training highly qualified personnel for the diplomatic service. She emphasized that regional cooperation in this field has been flourishing in recent years through the dialogue among Central Asian youth. Special attention was paid to the significance of this training in fostering regional dialogue, strengthening the diplomatic preparation of young cadres and enhancing capacity in the field of public administration.
During the training, participants will attend lectures and practical sessions conducted by UN Resident Coordinators in Central Asian countries, representatives of specialized agencies and other experts in international relations and diplomacy. They will discuss issues concerning the strengthening of international peace and trust, ensuring sustainable development and the prospects for regional cooperation, while sharing their insights and perspectives.
