ISLAMABAD, April 21. /Dunyo IA/. The leading Pakistani magazine “The Diplomatic Insight” has published an interview with the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtaev, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the conversation, an assessment was provided on the current level of strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, highlighting priority areas and the ongoing results of the multifaceted cooperation between the two nations.
In particular, as the Ambassador emphasized, the regular political dialogue at the highest and high levels has intensified significantly in recent years. The state visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Pakistan, which took place on February 5-6 of this year, was noted for its special historical significance.
According to the diplomat, in today's environment of global uncertainty, the world economy is facing serious challenges. This negatively impacts the development of international cooperation in trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres. Uzbekistan and Pakistan are no exception to these processes.
Under such conditions, ensuring the uninterrupted supply of essential food products, medicines, and medical devices to the populations of both countries becomes particularly relevant. Given the existing disruptions in production and supply chains, international and interregional transport and communication routes, as well as road and rail transport, it is vital to intensify efforts toward forming a diversified system of transport and transit corridors in the region.
The conversation also highlighted prospects for cooperation in high technology, the digital economy, e-commerce and the implementation of innovations in agriculture.
According to the diplomat, Uzbekistan advocates for the implementation of concrete innovative, infrastructure, transport, communication and energy projects with Pakistan. This will provide stability to the partnership between the countries and contribute to improving the welfare of the population.
In conclusion, Alisher Tukhtaev stated that Uzbekistan is ready to develop and implement practical measures to foster mutually beneficial and constructive cooperation with Pakistan in all areas. He also emphasized that the strategic location of both countries at the heart of Central and South Asia, combined with their openness to broad international cooperation, serves their common long-term interests.
