Leading British University Leader expresses commitment to strengthening collaboration with Uzbek Academic Institutions

LONDON, January 5. /Dunyo IA/. The Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Ravshan Usmanov, met with Professor Adam Habib, Director of the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, reoports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Founded in 1916, SOAS currently enrolls around 7,000 students and employs approximately 1,200 professors, lecturers, and specialists.
An independent constituent college of the University of London, SOAS operates four academic campuses and libraries in London, and offers joint educational programmes with universities in India, Bangladesh, China, Saudi Arabia and Kazakhstan. The university provides courses in social sciences, humanities as well as African and Asian languages.
Professor Adam Habib outlined the evolution of the university, its current academic and research activities, and its international cooperation initiatives. He emphasised SOAS’s interest in further expanding educational collaboration between Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom.
Representatives of SOAS noted that establishing partnerships with Uzbek universities would create new opportunities for both sides. In particular, they highlighted the university’s readiness to engage in dialogue on joint projects, dual-degree programmes, faculty and staff exchanges, as well as mutually beneficial collaboration in research and professional development.
