DOHA, February 12. /Dunyo IA/. The Embassy of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan and “Vatandoshlar” Public Foundation, organized a hybrid (offline and online) meeting with around 30 Uzbek students studying at leading universities in Qatar, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Participants were briefed on the decisions and initiatives of the Head of our State in the field of higher education, the scope of ongoing reforms and the comprehensive measures being implemented to modernize the sector. Students received detailed information on support mechanisms for school graduates, as well as the expanding opportunities available both domestically and abroad for pursuing quality education.

Particular attention was given to special scholarship programs for talented youth, overseas study opportunities and the progress achieved in strengthening cooperation between specialized institutions of Uzbekistan and Qatar in the education sphere. Discussions also covered upcoming bilateral engagements, targeted support for socially vulnerable groups and employment prospects in Uzbekistan for students completing their studies abroad.

During an interactive dialogue, students addressed questions to representatives of the Ministry and “Vatandoshlar” Public Foundation and put forward a number of practical proposals. Comprehensive clarifications were provided on academic programs, diploma recognition (nostrification) procedures and professional development opportunities.

As part of the event, Firdavs Fayzullaev, a student at Carnegie Mellon University in Doha, noted that more than 40 Uzbek students are currently pursuing their studies in Qatar, each receiving in-depth training in their respective fields. He proposed the creation of a database of graduates from Qatar’s leading universities to facilitate their recommendation to employers in Uzbekistan, thereby contributing to the country’s development.

For her part, Farzona Yusufjonova, a journalism student at Northwestern University in Qatar, put forward an initiative to organize internship placements in Uzbekistan during the summer break. It was agreed that these proposals would be further developed and implemented in cooperation with “Vatandoshlar” Public Foundation.

Students also expressed their willingness, on a voluntary basis, to assist the Embassy in supporting citizens of Uzbekistan visiting Qatar for tourism and other purposes, including those facing difficult life circumstances and requiring practical or communication assistance.

In this context, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan, the representative office of the “Vatandoshlar” Public Foundation and the Embassy established coordinated engagement with Uzbek students in Qatar and introduced a framework for sustained interaction and dialogue.

The meeting, held in a warm and open atmosphere, concluded with participants receiving comprehensive answers to their questions and expressing appreciation that their proposals and views had been duly considered.
