CAIRO, May 7. /Dunyo IA/. Embassy of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with Amr Riad, the founder of the Egyptian travel company “Egypt Holiday”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, the head of the company noted that interest in outbound tourism is growing rapidly in the country, with new and unexplored destinations gaining special importance. In this context, Uzbekistan was highlighted as one of the most promising destinations due to its rich historical heritage, status as a center of Islamic civilization and cultural proximity.

Amr Riad also expressed interest in developing cooperation and reported that he is already taking steps to establish direct contacts with several travel companies in Uzbekistan. In particular, he noted that the company has begun promoting the country based on materials provided by the Embassy, involving famous Egyptian bloggers with millions of followers as well as local entertainment figures.

At the same time, he pointed out that the main obstacle to tourism growth is high airfares from Egypt to Uzbekistan, ranging from USD 600 to USD 1,200, whereas a flight to Vietnam costs about USD 400 and European tour packages are around USD 1,000. In this regard, the company representative proposed considering practical support, including the organization of charter flights between Cairo and Tashkent.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to organize a familiarization trip to Uzbekistan in June for a group of Egyptian bloggers to study the country’s tourism potential, promote it, and develop specialized tour packages for Egyptian tourists.

It was also noted that a presentation event dedicated to the tourism and investment potential of Uzbekistan is scheduled for May 10^th at the Embassy. This will serve as a platform for direct dialogue and the signing of new agreements between industry representatives.
