Uzbekistan and UAE agree to hold consular consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs

ТASHKENT, December 12. /Dunyo IA/. Yesterday, in Abu Dhabi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Olimjon Abdullaev met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, Omar Obaid Al Shamsi, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, during the conversation, the parties exchanged views on the current state of bilateral relations and on further developing political, trade-economic, and cultural cooperation.
O. Al Shamsi emphasized that the cordial relations between the Leaders of the two countries serve as the foundation of the ties between Uzbekistan and the UAE.
In this regard, he highlighted the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to the Emirates in January of this year and noted that it elevated bilateral relations to a strategic level.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on consular and legal issues between the two countries.
UAE side expressed readiness to cooperate in creating all necessary conditions for Uzbek citizens residing in the territory of the Emirates.
Supporting the proposals to organize consular consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, he noted that the Memorandum of Understanding expected to be signed for the first time between the parties is acceptable to the Emirati side and expressed readiness to sign this document in the near future.
He proposed holding the first round of consultations in the first quarter of 2026 at a convenient time for both sides.
