MAGADAN, April 27. /Dunyo IA/. A celebration of Navruz took place in the Russian city of Magadan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event, organized under the motto “To celebrate Navruz is to celebrate humanity!”, was attended by compatriots temporarily staying in Magadan, students, representatives of Uzbek and other national-cultural centers, local administration officials and local residents.

Event was opened with welcoming remarks by diplomats from the Consulate General in Vladivostok and the Chairman of the “Vatandoshlar” Public Foundation Odiljon Sattorov, who congratulated the participants on the Navruz holiday. In their speeches, they noted that during the celebration of Navruz, the harmony between man and nature, love, and care for one's native land are manifested with particular brightness. They also emphasized the importance of preserving the environment, being grateful for its gifts and respecting human dignity.

Participants were also provided with information regarding the relations between Uzbekistan and Russia, specifically the annual growth in trade turnover. The presentation highlighted Uzbekistan's potential in the trade, economic, and investment spheres, the development of tourism and pilgrimage tourism, as well as progress in social and educational sectors. Furthermore, information was shared about products manufactured in the country, including food items, light industry goods, raw cotton, handicrafts and ceramics.

Musical performances by artists arriving from Uzbekistan played a vital role in creating a festive atmosphere.

As part of the holiday program, our compatriots presented theatrical performances reflecting the national traditions and values of the Uzbek people - renewal and rebirth, kindness, generosity, mutual respect and unity.

Additionally, an exhibition of Uzbek national clothing, folk arts and crafts, and applied arts was organized. Guests were served traditional dishes of Uzbek cuisine - plov, sumalak, somsa and other national treats.

At the conclusion of the festive event, participants expressed their sincere gratitude to the country's leadership for the attention and support, as well as for organizing such events in the interest of the people.

Within the framework of the visit, the delegation members met with Natalia Stumpf, Head of the Department at the Ministry of Internal, Information, and Youth Policy of the Magadan Region. During the conversation, issues regarding work with Uzbek citizens and diaspora organizations in the region were discussed, as well as prospects for further cooperation.

Additionally, a “round table” was organized for compatriots and their children living in Magadan, during which they were presented with books about great ancestors published in both Uzbek and Russian, as well as Uzbek language textbooks.
