A cultural and educational event featuring compatriots takes place in the Russian city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur

• 354KOMSOMOLSK-ON-AMUR, April 21. /Dunyo IA/. A festive event dedicated to the national holiday of Navruz was held in the city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Khabarovsk Krai, Russia, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The participants included compatriots temporarily residing in the region, student youth, representatives of Uzbek and other national-cultural centers, senior city administration officials, as well as local residents.
Diplomats from the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Vladivostok and the Chairman of the “Vatandoshlar” Public Foundation, Odiljon Sattorov, delivered welcoming remarks and congratulated the participants on the holiday. In their speeches, they emphasized the significance of harmony between humanity and nature, the careful treatment of the environment, gratitude for its gifts and the importance of respecting human dignity.
Participants were also provided with information regarding bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Russia, noting that bilateral trade turnover continues to grow annually. The briefing covered Uzbekistan’s potential in the trade, economic, and investment sectors, as well as in tourism - including pilgrimage tourism and the social and educational spheres. Guests were introduced to Uzbekistan-made food products, light industry goods, raw cotton, as well as traditional handicrafts and ceramics.
A special festive atmosphere was created by musical performances from artists who arrived from Uzbekistan.
As part of the event, compatriots presented theatrical performances reflecting national traditions and values, such as renewal and rebirth, mutual respect, kindness and solidarity. The program featured stage scenes involving traditional characters like the zharchi (herald) and the dekhkan (farmer), female lapar performers, “Kelin Salom” (bride’s greeting) ceremony, aytys (poetic duels) and other cultural displays.
Competitions in the Uzbek national wrestling, Kurash, were held among local residents and compatriots.
Additionally, an exhibition of Uzbek national clothing, folk arts and crafts, and decorative-applied arts was organized. Guests were treated to traditional Uzbek dishes - palov, sumalak, samsa and other national delicacies.
At the conclusion of the event, participants expressed their deep gratitude for the attention and support given to such initiatives aimed at strengthening social unity and preserving national values.
