Delegation from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences visits the University of World Economy and Diplomacy

ТASHKENT, January 30. /Dunyo IA/. Yesterday, an official visit by a delegation from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), led by its President Gao Xiang, has commenced at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The visit marks a significant milestone in Uzbekistan - China relations, which are currently at the stage of a comprehensive strategic partnership. During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of academic diplomacy as a sustainable intellectual foundation for interstate dialogue.
A key outcome of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) and the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), aimed at fostering joint research, academic exchanges, analytical publications and educational programs in international relations, global economics and contemporary China studies.
A central highlight of the program was the inauguration of the UWED Center for the Works of Xi Jinping and Contemporary China, envisioned as a multifunctional academic platform for studying China’s development model, governance, modernization and international initiatives. The Center will actively host lectures, research seminars, roundtables and expert discussions.
The visit also underscored substantial Chinese support for UWED’s digital educational infrastructure, with the university receiving 110 modern computers, server equipment and technical resources, significantly enhancing its digital learning and research capabilities.
Special attention was given to a lecture by Professor Yang Kaizhong on the topic of the “Logic of China’s modernization miracle” which drew considerable interest from UWED’s faculty and staff.
Both sides expressed confidence that the cooperation between UWED and CASS will be long-term and practice-oriented, contributing to the deepening of scientific dialogue and the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of international relations.
