Uzbek Cinema showcased in Washington at special screening

• 507WASHINGTON, January 21. /Dunyo IA/. The Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States hosted the official premiere of the feature film “Omonatim”, produced by the private film studio “Abbos Media” in collaboration with representatives of Uzbek cinema, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The cultural and educational event was attended by Uzbek nationals residing in the United States as well as American figures from the arts and cultural sectors.
The initiative, organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States, aimed to promote Uzbek national culture, cinema and spiritual values internationally, while further strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries.
Before the premiere, Abbos Abdullaev, producer and director of the film and head of the private studio “Abbos Media”, spoke about the filmmaking process, the conceptual content of the work and its underlying themes of humanism, family values and paternal responsibility. He emphasized that through “Omonatim”, he seeks to highlight the distinctive qualities of the Uzbek people - devotion to family, love for children and patriotism.
The film’s narrative vividly portrays universal and national values, including patriotism, the sacred bond between parents and children, personal responsibility, the cultivation of a healthy family environment, kindness and selflessness. The work was received with great interest by both Uzbek nationals and international guests.
During the event, discussions also highlighted the promotion of Uzbekistan’s cinema potential and tourism opportunities through national filmmaking, showcasing the country’s rich history, cultural heritage and contemporary image to the international community. The role of private film studios in the Uzbek film industry, the need to support young filmmakers and the importance of expanding international cooperation were also emphasized.
Guests at the premiere were offered traditional Uzbek dishes, which added a distinctive national flavour and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The event created a unique cultural setting that reflected Uzbekistan’s heritage, customs and national traditions.
Overall, the premiere played a significant role in supporting the development of Uzbekistan’s film industry, promoting Uzbek art on the international stage and strengthening spiritual and cultural ties with compatriots living in the United States.
