Uzbekistan’s tourism potential showcased at a seminar in Nagoya of Japan

NAGOYA, April 4. /Dunyo IA/. Embassy of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the travel companies “Hankyu Travel International Co., Ltd.” and “All Co., Ltd.”, organized a seminar in Nagoya of Japan, dedicated to the broad promotion of Uzbekistan's tourism potential, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The primary goal of the seminar was to popularize the country’s rich historical and cultural heritage and modern tourism infrastructure among the Japanese public, as well as to provide information on new tourism destinations and routes.
The event was attended by representatives of Japanese travel agencies, travellers and Japanese citizens planning to visit Uzbekistan this year.
During the seminar, information was presented on the ongoing tourism reforms in Uzbekistan, the favourable conditions being created for foreign tourists, new hotels, and modern tourism infrastructure. Presentations were also held showcasing the tourism potential of historical cities included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Shakhrisabz and Termez.
Participants of the event were provided with information about Uzbek national traditions, customs, traditional cuisine and tourism routes of interest to Japanese travellers. Additionally, presentations were made on historical monuments of Buddhist culture located in the Termez region, including Fayaztepa, Karatepa, Dalverzintepa and Zurmala.
Following the seminar, a Q&A session was held. Guests were provided with brochures, books, and tourist maps containing information about Uzbekistan's tourism opportunities.
Within the framework of the event, negotiations were also held with the leadership of “Hankyu Travel International Co., Ltd.”, headed by Kazuhiko Kazama, Managing Executive Officer/CFO at Nissan Financial Services. The parties discussed increasing the flow of Japanese tourists to various regions of Uzbekistan, as well as the development of new tourism projects.
In turn, Kazuhiko Kazama noted that in recent years, the development of tourism infrastructure, the creation of new tourism centers, as well as the holding of international festivals and events, have contributed to the growing interest of foreign tourists in Uzbekistan.
In particular, in 2025, the number of Japanese tourists visiting Uzbekistan reached 32,000 for the first time in history, an increase of more than 1.5 times compared to 2024.
It is expected that this event will contribute to the further promotion of Uzbekistan's tourism potential in the Japanese market, the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism and the development of new tourism projects.
