Attitude from Russia: In the Address of the President of Uzbekistan to the Oliy Majlis and the people of the country, the course towards sustainable economic growth was confirmed

MOSCOW, December 27. /Dunyo IA/. Research Fellow at the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia (ICCA) of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), also associated with the Center for Central Asian Studies, shared her insights with Dunyo Information Agency on President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s Address to the Oliy Majlis and the people of Uzbekistan:

-In his Address, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev highlighted the macroeconomic achievements attained by the country in recent years. During the period of reforms, the Republic has demonstrated steady economic growth. Notably, this growth is accompanied by a relatively low level of public debt, which distinguishes Uzbekistan favorably from many other emerging economies.

Russia is particularly interested in these positive economic trends in Uzbekistan, as they contribute to strengthening regional stability in Central Asia and create favorable conditions for expanding trade and investment cooperation.

Of special significance is the priority given to industrial development. Uzbekistan is strategically increasing the share of its manufacturing sector, implementing projects in petrochemicals, metallurgy, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and the chemical industry. In this context, additional opportunities arise for bilateral cooperation. Russian companies are involved in projects in energy - including nuclear energy - mining, and the supply and localization of industrial equipment. This lays the foundation for deepening technological collaboration based on the combined investment resources and production expertise of both countries.

Our strategic priorities today largely coincide, forming a solid basis not only for the development of Uzbekistan or Russia individually, but for the region as a whole.
