Tashkent hosts Uzbekistan–Brazil Political Consultations

ТASHKENT, December 15. /Dunyo IA/. On December 10, the next round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Federative Republic of Brazil was held in Tashkent, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, the delegations were headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Muzaffar Madrakhimov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, Susan Kleebank. The event was also attended by the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil to Uzbekistan, Sergio Rodrigues dos Santos.
During the talks, the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations were discussed. The sides noted the steady progress of political dialogue, regular contacts at the level of the heads of foreign ministries, and the expansion of inter-parliamentary cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to the development of trade, economic and investment cooperation, diversification of mutual trade, and the launch of joint projects. The Brazilian side was presented with a package of investment proposals in agriculture, renewable energy, industry, and other areas.
The parties also reviewed areas of humanitarian cooperation, including expanding cooperation between universities, promoting the participation of school pupils and students in international Olympiads, as well as developing projects in the fields of digitalization and innovation.
In addition, the sides exchanged views on topical issues on the international and climate agendas and reaffirmed their readiness to continue mutual support within the framework of the United Nations and other multilateral organizations.
Following the consultations, the intention to further deepen Uzbekistan–Brazil cooperation and ensure the implementation of the agreements reached was underscored.
