Uzbek Language Day celebrated in the U.S. by cultural figures from the Uzbek community in Afghanistan

PHILADELPHIA, October 25. /Dunyo IA/. For the first time, a celebration of Uzbek Language Day was held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, organized by cultural and public figures from the Uzbek community, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event brought together representatives and activists from Uzbek diaspora organizations in the U.S., including Abdullah Khoja, president of the "Turkestan-America" Association, along with members of the Afghan diaspora from various states and countries.
The program featured lively discussions about the status and future of the Uzbek language in Afghanistan, as well as its preservation among younger generations. Participants emphasized the importance of language as a reflection of culture and traditions.
Attendees enjoyed traditional Uzbek dishes, costumes, dances, music, and songs. The evening included performances and readings from the works of great Uzbek poets and thinkers, such as Alisher Navoi and Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur. A small art exhibition showcased the richness of Uzbek applied arts.
Participants expressed heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to learn more about the Uzbek language, its traditions, and values, receiving both spiritual and cultural enrichment. This event marked an important step in strengthening the identity of the Uzbek community in the U.S. and ensuring the preservation of the language for future generations.
