KONYA, February 9. /Dunyo IA/. In honour of the 585th anniversary of Alisher Navoi’s birth, a scholarly and educational event titled “The Place and Significance of Alisher Navoi in Turkic Literature” was held at Necmettin Erbakan University in Konya, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event was organized in collaboration with Kimyo International University in Tashkent (KIUT).Professor Gulnoza Odilova delivered a lecture on the scholarly legacy of the great poet and thinker, highlighting his role in the history of the Turkic language, contemporary research in Navoi studies and the ongoing efforts in Uzbekistan to study and promote Alisher Navoi’s heritage.

As part of the conference, the book “Pearls of the East”, published on the initiative of Kimyo International University in Tashkent and translated, among other languages, into Turkish, was presented. The publication is dedicated to the study and popularization of Alisher Navoi’s literary heritage.

Students of the university read excerpts from works related to Alisher Navoi’s literary legacy.

During the event, local professors and lecturers also delivered presentations, highlighting Navoi’s significant contribution to Turkic literature and shared spiritual values as well as discussing contemporary research on his heritage being conducted in Türkiye.
