Malaysian company expresses interest in exploring the establishment of a data processing center in Uzbekistan

KUALA LUMPUR, September 9. /Dunyо IA/. Karomiddin Gadoev, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Malaysia, held a constructive meeting with Prabhav Thiagarajah, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Malaysian company "Basis Bay," reports Dunyо IA correspondent.

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place regarding prospects for cooperation in the field of digital technologies. According to the Malaysian entrepreneur, the company has established the country’s only data center founded by a Malaysian resident. In 2009, the company became one of the pioneers in Asia by launching a "green" data center, built on principles of energy efficiency and environmentally friendly technologies.

In light of our country’s policy aimed at developing the digital economy and its strategic geographic location, discussions with the Malaysian side focused on the potential investment opportunities for constructing a data center in Uzbekistan.

An agreement was reached that a working delegation of company specialists will visit the republic in the near future to study the Uzbek information technology market and explore the prospects for constructing a data center.

Founded in 1996, Basis Bay is one of Malaysia’s leading IT companies, primarily specializing in data center services and cloud solutions. Currently, the company operates four data centers located in Kuala Lumpur and its surrounding areas.
