Ambassador of Uzbekistan discusses prospects for new joint projects with Pakistan’s leading pharmaceutical company

KARACHI, January 7. /Dunyo IA/. During his visit to Karachi, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtaev toured Pakistan’s largest pharmaceutical company, Getz Pharma, and met with its CEO Khalid Mahmood, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The discussions focused on expanding cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector and advancing joint investment projects.
The Ambassador was briefed on the company’s storage facilities, state-of-the-art control and measuring systems compliant with international safety standards, production processes, preparation for drug transportation, and the work of its analytical team, which ensures continuous monitoring of production.
Khalid Mahmood emphasized the importance of implementing international standardization systems and certification procedures in Uzbekistan to foster the growth of its pharmaceutical industry and attract foreign investment. He also expressed readiness to collaborate with Ministry of Health and the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan on these initiatives.
The company’s CEO highlighted that a project for the production of biotechnological medicines has already commenced within the Tashkent Pharma Park pharmaceutical cluster.
