AKTOBE, September 29. /Dunyo IA/. Representatives of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Aktau held a meeting with Deputy Akim of Aktobe Region Galymzhan Eleuov, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Talks focused on bilateral cooperation, trade and economic ties, tourism and cultural cooperation.

According to the Akimat of the Aktobe Region, in the first half of the current year, volume of trade and economic turnover between the Aktobe Region and the regions of Uzbekistan reached $25 million. Concurrently, a positive dynamic of this indicator was noted.

Meeting also addressed the transit of significant volumes of cargo bound for Uzbekistan through Aktobe Region, including measures to ensure their prompt and safe movement.

Akimat of the Aktobe Region expressed its readiness to facilitate the further development of bilateral ties and provide support to entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan. In this regard, an agreement was reached to organize a visit of entrepreneurs from the Aktobe Region to the city of Tashkent on October 8–9^th of the current year.

Active development of cooperation in the tourism sector was also noted. Since August of the current year, two flights per week have been operated on the Aktobe–Tashkent route, with a concurrent growth observed in the tourist flow.

Within the framework of the practical implementation of the agreements reached during the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and the first meeting of regional leaders held in July of the current year in the city of Aktau, issues concerning the activities of the Trade House of Uzbekistan in the city of Aktobe were discussed. According to available information, the volume of trade and economic transactions within the framework of the Trade House's activities has currently reached $500,000.

Representatives of the Consulate General also held a meeting with the leadership of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Aktobe Region “Atameken” and local businesspersons. The event was attended by representatives of more than 15 large enterprises of the region operating in the fields of the food industry, animal husbandry, manufacturing and petrochemistry.

Kazakhstani entrepreneurs expressed interest in developing and strengthening business ties with the entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan. Furthermore, in order to facilitate the establishment of direct contacts between business representatives, it was proposed to create a Unified Register of Manufacturers.

During the meeting, an agreement was also reached to assist in organizing the planned visit of Aktobe Region entrepreneurs to the city of Tashkent at a high level and with practical returns.

Representatives of the Consulate General met with citizens engaged in entrepreneurial activities and the export of Uzbek products in the Aktobe Region and also familiarized themselves with the operations of the Trade House of Uzbekistan.
