"Uzbekistan-China Women Entrepreneurs Forum" convened in Beijing to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation

BEIJING, October 13. /Dunyo IA/.  During the visit of the Uzbekistan delegation headed by Zulaykho Mahkamova, Deputy Prime Minister to China, "Uzbekistan-China Women Entrepreneurs Forum" was held at the Embassy of our country, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The forum was attended by representatives of the All-China Women's Federation of Entrepreneurs, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chinese women entrepreneurs, and members of the media.

The event highlighted that in recent years, Uzbekistan has placed particular emphasis on the protection of women's rights and interests.

It was noted that the "Uzbekistan – 2030" Strategy sets clear objectives for strengthening the system of comprehensive support for women, ensuring their rights and legitimate interests, including enhancing their economic participation.

It was emphasized that new opportunities and favorable conditions are being created for women entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan, particularly in areas such as access to credit and subsidies, licensing, real estate, and other essential resources. It was also noted that women currently lead 45% of all registered business entities in the country.

It was also noted that within the service sector, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the women's affairs divisions, a vertical system has been established to expand women's economic opportunities and support entrepreneurship.

During the presentation, it was noted that Uzbekistan’s efforts to support and promote women’s entrepreneurship are being positively recognized by leading international institutions.

Uzbekistan’s performance has improved in 10 out of 20 key international rankings and indices. Notably, in the World Bank’s "Women, Business and the Law" Index, the country advanced by 48 positions, ranking 91st out of 190 countries. This substantial progress stands as a clear testament to the effectiveness of comprehensive reforms aimed at promoting gender equality and enhancing women’s rights and opportunities.

An Uzbek-Chinese platform was also organized to facilitate interactive dialogue among women. During the event, a number of Chinese women entrepreneurs had the opportunity to receive direct answers to their questions.
