MAIZURU, March 9. /Dunyo IA/. A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Ambassador Mukhsinhoja Abdurakhmonov, conducted an official working visit to the Japanese city of Maizuru in Kyoto Prefecture, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the visit, meetings were held with the Mayor of Maizuru, Akitsu Kamoda, Chairman of the City Council, Ryuji Kimotsuki, as well as representatives of local educational institutions.

Discussions focused on expanding cooperation between regions of Uzbekistan and Japan, developing educational and personnel programs and promoting trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian exchanges. Both sides emphasized their readiness to strengthen existing ties and implement mutually beneficial projects.

As part of the visit, the Uzbek Ambassador addressed the Maizuru City Council, proposing to enhance cooperation between the cities of Rishtan and Maizuru, including the establishment of an official sister-city relationship. The initiative was warmly received by the city administration and council members, who expressed interest in further developing such collaboration.

At the conclusion of the visit, both parties agreed to continue practical efforts to reinforce friendly ties between the regions, expand interpersonal contacts and take steps toward formalizing the sister-city relationship.
