MINSK, March 31. /Dunyo IA/. The traditional XXXIII Minsk International Book Fair, dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the CIS, was held in the capital of Belarus with the participation of Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
As part of the opening ceremony, the international symposium “Writer and Time” was held with the support of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation. Participants included Sirojiddin Rauf, Editor-in-Chief of the “Sharq Yulduzi” magazine and writer and translator Risolat Khaydarova, who delivered presentations on pressing issues in the development of modern literature.
Uzbekistan's national stand featured a wide range of poetry and prose collections, as well as selected works by prominent figures of Uzbek literature published by domestic publishing houses. The exhibition also included books dedicated to the reforms being implemented in the country and modern social life. The materials presented allowed international guests to gain a more complete understanding of Uzbekistan's rich cultural heritage and its dynamic development.
As CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev noted, the XXXIII Minsk International Book Fair is a clear confirmation that, despite the rapid development of digital technologies, the printed book continues to be an important symbol of knowledge, spirituality and the cultural identity of the peoples of the Commonwealth.
As part of the exhibition on March 20, a presentation aimed at promoting the cultural heritage, history, and tourism potential of Uzbekistan was organized with the support of the Embassy and the participation of Uzbekistan's Tourism Ambassador Vasilina Mitskevich. During the event, Uzbek national songs and dance performances were featured, alongside video materials showcasing the country's tourism appeal.
The holding of the exhibition once again confirmed its significance as an effective platform for strengthening friendship between peoples, exchanging experience and new ideas in the literary field, as well as for promoting cultural and historical heritage.
