BERLIN, January 9. /Dunyo IA/. The German Textile and Fashion Industry Association has published an article in Masche magazine summarizing the results of the three-year implementation of the joint GUZ Partners (German-Uzbek Textile Partners) project, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The article notes that the joint initiative of the German Federation of Textile and Fashion Companies Gesamtmasche and the Uztextileprom Association has had a positive impact on the sustainable development of cooperation between the two countries in the textile sector.
In particular, in November 2025, as part of the evaluation of the three-year project, the GUZ Partners team conducted a series of interviews and workshops with representatives of enterprises and government agencies in Tashkent, Namangan, Fergana, and Karshi. Analysis of these activities demonstrated the high effectiveness of the measures implemented under the project. The main focus was placed on fostering the sustainable development of Uzbekistan’s textile and garment-knitting industry, as well as preparing industrial enterprises for cooperation with German companies in the sector.
The article emphasizes that significant results were achieved through the multiplier concept, under which enterprises, through practical training and optimization of production processes, were able to better adapt to the requirements of the European market, particularly Germany.
Within the framework of the project, comprehensive support was also provided to the Uztextileprom Association, primarily in the areas of export promotion, marketing, certification, and compliance with European Union requirements, through sustainable consulting services. As noted by the German publication, the project thus makes a substantial contribution to enhancing the professional qualifications of industry representatives in line with international standards.
The article further highlights that Uzbekistan’s international cooperation continues to expand thanks to its GSP+ status, which confirms compliance with key international conventions and provides the country with preferential, duty-free access to the European Union market.
It is noted that the Fergana region was selected as the pilot region of the project, within which industrial enterprises, higher education institutions, and training centres were systematically involved in the initiative.
The implementation of the Trainer-of-Trainers training program ensured a long-term effect through the formation of local multipliers. Today, the region is regarded as a successful example of effective project implementation. At the same time, the Kashkadarya region is gradually being shaped as the second pilot region of the project.
The GUZ Partners project receives support from the governments of both countries, including the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan and the Embassy of Germany in Uzbekistan, underscoring its importance for bilateral economic cooperation. In order to further consolidate the achieved results, Gesamtmasche and Uztextileprom plan to continue implementing the project in 2026, the article concludes.
