Direct flight between Muscat and Tashkent to launch on June 1

MUSCAT, March 26. /Dunyo IA/. The Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Abdusalom Khatamov, met with the Minister of Heritage and Tourism of Oman, Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said bin Ibrahim Al Busaidi, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of bilateral cooperation in tourism, increasing mutual tourist flows, promoting Uzbekistan’s rich tourism potential and cultural heritage, as well as expanding ties between tourism companies of both countries.
Said bin Ibrahim Al Busaidi noted that in recent years relations between Uzbekistan and Oman in the tourism and cultural spheres have been actively developing. He also emphasized that ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan’s tourism sector have contributed to a steady increase in the number of tourists visiting the country annually.
The Minister expressed confidence that the launch of direct flights on the Muscat–Tashkent route starting June 1, 2026, will further boost mutual tourism flows.
He fully supported the initiative to organize a “Road Show” in Muscat to showcase Uzbekistan’s tourism potential and expressed readiness to provide comprehensive assistance for its implementation.
The parties also endorsed the initiative to hold photography exhibitions in Uzbekistan and Oman to further strengthen cultural and humanitarian ties and enhance mutual understanding and closeness between the peoples of the two countries.
