Navruz celebrated at UN headquarters in New York

NEW YORK, March 26. /Dunyo IA/. A festive reception dedicated to the spring holiday of Navruz was held at the headquarters of the United Nations in New York, jointly organized by the permanent missions of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the event, the Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan, Ulugbek Lapasov, highlighted the unifying significance of Navruz for the peoples of Central Asia, emphasizing its role as a reflection of the region’s shared cultural and historical traditions, as well as its importance in strengthening friendship, mutual understanding, and regional cooperation.
Heads of the Central Asian permanent missions to the UN also delivered congratulatory remarks, noting that Navruz symbolizes peace, good-neighborliness, and sustainable development.
The celebration was attended by representatives of UN member states, the UN Secretariat, international organizations, the diplomatic corps, and compatriots. Guests were presented with traditional dishes of Central Asian cuisine.
Participants noted that the celebration once again confirmed that in recent years regional cooperation in Central Asia has been reaching a new level, with ties between the countries continuing to expand across various fields.
