Uzbek Footballer Abduqodir Khusanov recognised as Asia’s Top Young Talent in 2025

TASHKENT, January 3. /Dunyo IA/. Central defender of the Uzbekistan national team and English football club Manchester City, Abdukodir Khusanov, has been named Asia’s Best Young Footballer of 2025 by Goalpost, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
It is noted that the past year marked an important stage in the career of the 21-year-old player. In January, he became the first footballer from Uzbekistan to make his debut in the English Premier League following his transfer to Manchester City.
In June, Abdukodir Khusanov played a key role with the Uzbekistan national team in securing qualification for the FIFA World Cup. In the current season, the defender has made nine appearances for the Manchester-based club.
In the Goalpost voting, Khusanov surpassed a number of promising Asian footballers, including players from Uzbekistan, Australia, Indonesia, the Republic of Korea, Iraq, and other countries of the region.
In addition, Khusanov ranked 86th in the list of the world’s top 100 footballers according to The Athletic, highlighting the growing international recognition of the Uzbek footballer.
