DOHA, November 28. /Dunyo IA/. The delegation of Uzbekistan took part in the “Qatar Travel Mart 2025” international tourism exhibition held in Doha, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The delegation’s visit was organized by the Uzbekistan Tourism Committee in cooperation with the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the State of Qatar.

The Uzbek delegation included representatives of the Tourism Departments of Tashkent City and Jizzakh Region, as well as leading tour operators such as “Asialuxe Travel”, “Bazaar Travel”, “Sultan Travel”, “Trip Travel”, and “Rezbook Travel”.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by Sheikh Faisal bin Thani Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry of the State of Qatar; Saad bin Ali Al-Kharji, Chairman of “Qatar Tourism”; Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, Chairman of the Qatari Businessmen Association; as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Doha.

The Uzbekistan national pavilion, designed in a traditional style, became one of the most vibrant and widely visited showcases of the exhibition. Visitors expressed strong interest in the country’s historic cities - Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva as well as in Tashkent’s modern attractions, renowned for their rich blend of national and international gastronomy.

Participants were briefed on Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, including its historic cities, leisure destinations, and popular travel routes. Particular attention was drawn to the country’s diverse tourism segments from modern infrastructure and world-class hotels to parks, historic monuments, and cultural landmarks.

Within the framework of the exhibition, representatives of Uzbekistan held productive meetings with major travel agencies from Qatar and the Gulf region - including “Ali Bin Ali Travel”, “Mannai Travel”, “Regency Travel & Tours”, “Piccadilly Travels”, “Ayemus Tours”, “Four Points by Sheraton” and “Musafir Travels” reaching concrete agreements on future cooperation.

Uzbekistan’s successful participation in “Qatar Travel Mart 2025” served as yet another clear indication of the growing interest of the Qatari public in our country. The existing visa-free regime between the two states, along with direct flights, plays a key role in increasing mutual tourist flows. Despite its relatively small population, Qatar is home to some of the world’s most high-spending travelers. In recent years, Uzbekistan has witnessed a positive upward trend in tourist arrivals from Qatar: compared with 2022, the number of Qatari visitors has increased 6.2-fold.

The international exhibition is regarded as one of the fastest-growing tourism events in the Middle East and beyond. In 2025, it brought together more than 300 exhibitors from over 60 countries, including national tourism boards, leading hotels, airlines and major tour operators. Visitor numbers exceeded 12,000. The event serves as a key platform for fostering business partnerships and promoting global tourism destinations, strengthening professional networks and opening new opportunities for cooperation across the international travel industry.
