Azerbaijan appoints New Ambassador to Uzbekistan

TASHKENT, July 27. /Dunyo IA/. Today, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov received the newly appointed Ambassador of Azerbaijan Rashad Mammadov, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
“Received copies of the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to our country, H.E. Rashad Mammadov, - the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan wrote in his telegram-channel. - Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are bound by centuries-old ties of brotherhood, shared historical and cultural roots, as well as mutual respect. Thanks to the close relations between the Leaders of our countries, built on a high level of trust, this solid foundation is today being enriched with new substance of strategic partnership and allied relations.
During the meeting, we paid particular attention to maintaining the high dynamics of political dialogue, expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as advancing joint projects in the fields of transport and logistics.
We are convinced that the Ambassador’s extensive diplomatic experience will contribute to further strengthening Uzbekistan–Azerbaijan allied relations and enriching our cooperation with new practical outcomes”.
As a reminder, 53-year-old Rashad Mammadov succeeds Huseyn Guliyev, who headed the Embassy in Tashkent from 2012 to 2026.
From 2015 to 2021, Rashad Mammadov served as the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan, and from 2021 to 2026, as Ambassador to Türkiye.
