“Diplomatic Affairs”: Uzbek-Azerbaijani Environmental Cooperation reaches strategic partnership level

ISLAMABAD, July 30. /Dunyo IA/. Pakistani publication “Diplomatic Affairs” has published an analytical article dedicated to the development of environmental cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Article notes that in recent years, cooperation between the two countries in the field of environmental diplomacy has significantly intensified and encompasses issues of sustainable development, the climate agenda and the “green” economy.

Particular attention is paid to cooperation within the framework of the international climate conferences COP28 and COP29. It is emphasized that an important event was the first meeting of the ministers of ecology of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States, held at the National Pavilion of Uzbekistan on the sidelines of COP29 in Baku. Following the meeting, a declaration on the development of cooperation in the field of environmental protection was signed.

Publication also highlights the launch of the Asian Development Bank’s regional programme “From Glaciers to Farms”, as well as the participation of Azerbaijani eco-activists in the international environmental camp in Samarkand, which contributes to the development of environmental culture and regional cooperation.

According to “Diplomatic Affairs”, environmental cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan is becoming one of the key areas of strategic partnership, creating a foundation for the implementation of joint initiatives in the fields of climate diplomacy, scientific research and “green” development.
