ISTANBUL, August 12. /Dunyo IA/.  Diplomats of the General Consulate visited the Temporary Removal Center for persons subject to deportation in the Tuzla district of Istanbul, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the visit, conversations and negotiations were held with the head of the center, Yusuf Yılmaz, and responsible officials. During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on matters concerning citizens of Uzbekistan staying at the center, including their legal status, documentation and options for providing consular assistance. Representatives of the General Consulate also expressed readiness to provide citizens of Uzbekistan with practical assistance in establishing identity, issuing documents and resolving issues related to returning home, whenever necessary.

As part of the visit, separate conversations were organized with women and men who are citizens of Uzbekistan staying at the center. During the communication, the issues of concern to them were identified and assistance was provided in their resolution.

Following the meeting with representatives of the center, an agreement was reached to continue practical cooperation between General Consulate of Uzbekistan in Istanbul and Temporary Removal Center for persons subject to deportation in Tuzla, provide citizens with consular services, as well as ensure prompt exchange of information when necessary.
