TORONTO, March 5. /Dunyo IA/. As part of one of the world’s most prestigious platforms for mining and geological research, PDAC 2026, an event titled “Uzbekistan Day” showcased the country’s potential in the field of critical minerals to an international audience, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Mining and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan, presented the country’s geological prospects and investment potential to the global community, alongside an industrial model based on the full value chain concept: “Mine-Metal-Market”.

Participants included the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Canada Furqat Sidikov, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, as well as leadership, advisors and international experts from the Uzbek Technological Metals Combine - the country’s first and only industrial operator showcasing Uzbekistan’s capabilities in critical minerals, established under the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

“Uzbekistan Day” attracted strong interest from the global mining and metallurgical community. The event brought together representatives from around 200 companies and institutions, including senior executives from major firms such as “Alpha Bronze”, the international engineering giant “AtkinsRéalis”, “AGT Systems NA”, the leader in airborne geophysical services “Xcalibur”, “Speyside”, “Global Mining Capital Corp”, “Freedom Capital Markets”, as well as representatives from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and the European Commission, Critical Raw Materials Policy Unit.

Scott Sutherland, Managing Director of Business and Geoscience Technology at the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, shared his impressions of the event and the prospects for cooperation with Uzbekistan in an interview with the Dunyo Information Agency.

-  I attended the session dedicated to Uzbekistan Day at PDAC and was very impressed by the geological and mining potential showcased by Uzbekistan. By the end of this year, Society plans to hold an international mining conference in Uzbekistan. We are pleased with the productive cooperation established with the Government of Uzbekistan and intend to engage even more actively in the future, contributing to the development of the country’s resource potential and vast opportunities.

During the event, Uzbekistan presented large-scale reforms in the mining sector, prospective projects for the development of new deposits and the deep processing of rare and technological metals, as well as initiatives aimed at expanding international cooperation.

As part of the event, the Uzbek Technological Metals Combine signed a memorandum of understanding with the Canadian company “OMAD International Inc.” aimed at attracting investment and fostering industrial cooperation.

In addition, a cooperation memorandum was concluded with “Erdenes IT LLC”, outlining the establishment of technology parks, the implementation of joint research initiatives and collaboration in mining, geology and international marketing.

These agreements reflect a consistent strategic approach to promoting the “Mine-Metal-Market” model internationally, designed to transform Uzbekistan’s geological potential into globally competitive, high-value industrial products and position the country as a key link in the global value chain of critical minerals.
