DUSHANBE, March 13. /Dunyo IA/. Today, opening ceremony of the III Uzbekistan - Tajikistan Rectors' Forum took place at the Tajik State Pedagogical University, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

In the opening segment of the event, speeches were delivered by Rahim Saidzoda, Minister of Education and Science of Tajikistan; Kongratbay Sharipov, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan; Ergash Shoismatov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Dushanbe and several rectors. They discussed the developing allied relations between the two countries and cooperation in the field of education.

Rectors from over 70 universities of the two countries participated in the forum.

As part of the event, more than 20 cooperation agreements were signed between the higher education institutions of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

Additionally, a bilateral meeting was held between the education ministers of the two nations. During the talks, they discussed accelerating academic exchanges, improving study conditions for international students and launching joint university projects. At the conclusion of the meeting, Kongratbay Sharipov presented Rahim Saidzoda with an official invitation to the European Union -Central Asia University Congress, which will take place on April 13-14 in Samarkand.
