As part of the preparations for the 65th International Flowers Festival, a grand opening ceremony for the Guinness World Record attempt was held in the city center. The goal is to collectively plant 150 million flowers within one month, an achievement intended to be officially recorded as a new world record.
The event brought together representatives of local authorities, international organizations, veterans, youth, public figures and international guests.
Deputy Hokim of the region Botir Nuritdinov, noted that this project not only helps improve the ecological state of the region but also provides a powerful impetus for the development of tourism.
Special attention was paid to international oversight - Kanzy Defrawy, a representative of “Guinness World Records” in the UAE, attended the ceremony. She emphasized that all processes will be meticulously monitored in accordance with global standards.
An important part of the event was the speech by the Chairman of the “Nuroniy” Foundation, Senator Ikromkhon Najmiddinov, who described the project as a vivid example of the people's unity and creative power.
- We are united for a common cause, - he said, adding that such a project contributes to strengthening the spirit of mutual assistance.
It is noteworthy that in recent years, Namangan has significantly expanded the scale of its floral industry. While 4.5 million flowers were planted in the city in 2018, this year the plan is to plant more than 150 million seedlings of 120 different flower species!
This will not only transform the city's appearance but also enhance its investment and tourism appeal. The 65th International Flowers Festival will take place from May 24th to July 12th and promises to be a landmark event, featuring over 150 cultural activities, international forums, exhibitions and concert programs.
At the ceremony itself, the participants began the countdown to set the record in a unanimous display of enthusiasm. This moment became a symbol of the collective drive toward a great cause and success!
The project is not only aimed at setting a world record but will also serve to promote Namangan’s image on the international stage, improve the local ecology and enhance the quality of life for residents, notes the information service of the regional khokimiyat.
