The event, held at “Maqsut Narikbayev University” in Astana, was organized to mark the 585th anniversary of Mir Alisher Navoi and the 543rd anniversary of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur.

Participants included Alisher Satvaldiyev, a member of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, representatives of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, civil society organizations, scholars, poets, intellectuals and students.

In their speeches, attendees highlighted the significance of Navoi’s and Babur’s legacy for the Turkic world and underscored the importance of strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

Diplomats and representatives of the Uzbek Ethnocultural Center spoke about the lives and works of the two great thinkers and highlighted measures taken to celebrate their milestone anniversaries both in Uzbekistan and abroad. It was noted that, under the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, efforts are underway to repatriate facsimile copies of manuscripts by classical poets currently held overseas.

The program also featured video presentations including renowned Kazakh poet Nesipbek Aytuly and representatives of the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan, in which Alisher Navoi was hailed as the father of Turkic poetry.

Subsequently, Uzbek diplomats held an informative session with students on consular registration, compliance with the laws of the host country and preventing legal violations. Participants were also provided with information on measures to support the employment of Uzbek university graduates.

The meeting concluded with a Q&A session, during which students received guidance on residence regulations in Kazakhstan, the importance of respecting local traditions and the promotion and preservation of the Uzbek language.
