Ambassador of Uzbekistan and Japanese MP discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation

TOKYO, March 29. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan Mukhsinhuja Abdurakhmonov, met in Tokyo with Taro Kono, a member of the Japanese Parliament and Director of the International Bureau of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The parties discussed the outcomes of the historic visit of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Japan in December 2025, including the high-level negotiations held during the trip. They also reviewed participation in the first summit of the “Central Asia + Japan” Dialogue and addressed issues regarding the practical implementation of the agreements reached.
Specific areas for expanding ties and interaction between the political parties of Uzbekistan and Japan were also reviewed.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to develop cooperation between the two countries in the political, trade and economic, educational, and tourism spheres, as well as to maintain close collaboration in organizing mutual visits for parliamentary representatives.
