OSH, July 24. /Dunyo IA/.  A business forum took place in the city of Osh with the participation of more than 300 representatives from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, resulting in the signing of export contracts worth 42.4 million dollars, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Conference hall of the “Jannat Resort” hotel gathered representatives from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Small Business Association of Uzbekistan, Consulate General in the city of Osh, World Youth Association of Uzbekistan in Kyrgyzstan, partner organizations of Kyrgyzstan and entrepreneurs from both countries.

Forum was also attended by Janar Akaev, Mayor of Osh; Kantoro Turdubaev, Head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan for the Osh, Jalal-Abad and Batken regions; Shavkat Mukhamedjanov, representative of the Entrepreneurs' Union of Kyrgyzstan; as well as local entrepreneurs and representatives of travel companies.

Delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Muzaffarkhon Musaev, Deputy Chairman of the Small Business Association of Uzbekistan, included representatives from 80 enterprises across various sectors, including industry, agriculture, trade, logistics, tourism, information technology and services.

Official part of the event was opened by the Mayor of Osh, Zhanar Akaev, who noted the importance of further developing friendly relations and trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

He emphasized that thanks to the political will of the leaders of the two countries, relations between the states are actively developing and the resolution of the border issue has contributed to strengthening ties between the peoples.

During the event, participants were shown a video presentation highlighting Uzbekistan's investment potential, which was followed by B2B meetings and negotiations between entrepreneurs from both countries.

Parties discussed expanding mutual trade, increasing export-import operations and implementing joint investment and industrial projects, reaching a number of practical agreements.

Following the negotiations, export contracts were signed to supply Uzbek-manufactured products to Kyrgyzstan for a total amount of $42.4 million.
