SEOUL, February 10. /Dunyo IA/. Diplomats of the Embassy of Uzbekistan laid flowers at the monument to Alisher Navoi in Seoul on the occasion of the 585th anniversary of the birth of the great poet and thinker, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The commemorative event was attended by both embassy staff and compatriots residing and studying in the South Korea.
Addressing the participants of the ceremony, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Abdusalomov noted the special role of Alisher Navoi’s works in the spiritual and moral development of the younger generation. He emphasized that the poet’s rich literary and philosophical heritage occupies an important place in world literature, science and the history of statehood.
Attention was drawn to the state policy being implemented in Uzbekistan aimed at creating favorable conditions for the comprehensive development of youth and the attainment of quality education. It was noted that protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the country’s citizens studying abroad is one of the priority areas of state activity.
It was emphasized that the staff of the Embassy of Uzbekistan provides ongoing support to compatriots residing and studying in the South Korea, carries out systematic work to study and address their concerns and encourages initiatives and proposals from young people.
The Uzbek youth who participated in the event expressed their readiness to make a worthy contribution to the future development and prosperity of Uzbekistan, building on the modern knowledge and professional skills they have acquired abroad.
It was emphasized at the event that the installation of the Alisher Navoi monument in Seoul has become an important symbol of strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between Uzbekistan and South Korea, marking a truly landmark event in the history of bilateral relations.
In addition, an article dedicated to the life and works of Alisher Navoi was published in the South Korean outlet “Global Korea Post”, further contributing to the popularization of the great poet’s legacy among the Korean audience.
