Belarusian Media highlight current state and future prospects of cooperation with Uzbekistan

Belarusian mass media are widely covering the development of Uzbek-Belarusian cooperation, paying special attention to the preparations for the upcoming visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Belarus, the expansion of trade and economic interaction, the development of industrial cooperation, as well as the strengthening of cultural, scientific and educational ties between the two countries, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
In particular, the “BelTA” news agency, “ONT” television channel and the “SB. Belarus Segodnya” newspaper reported on a meeting held in the Government of Belarus regarding preparations for the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Minsk.
Belarusian media paid special attention to the dynamic development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation. “BelTA” news agency and the “SB. Belarus Segodnya” newspaper reported that over the past ten years, the volume of mutual trade in goods between Belarus and Uzbekistan has increased more than 13 times. It is noted that the countries intend to significantly increase mutual trade turnover by expanding industrial cooperation, implementing joint investment projects, and creating new production chains. The publications emphasize the high potential of cooperation in mechanical engineering, agriculture, the food industry, pharmaceuticals and other sectors of the economy.
A number of Belarusian publications – “BelTA”, “SB. Belarus Segodnya” and “ECCIS” also covered a meeting between representatives of the expert communities of the two countries, which was dedicated to the development of industrial cooperation and the improvement of transport and logistical ties between both nations. During the discussions, the experts noted the need for further removal of logistical barriers, the expansion of manufacturing cooperation and the deepening of interaction within international transport corridors. According to “Minsk News”, the meeting participants also reaffirmed the intention of Belarus and Uzbekistan to multiply the volume of mutual trade in the future, emphasizing that this will be facilitated by the implementation of new joint projects and the expansion of business contacts.
Belarusian media resources also wrote about the development of scientific and expert cooperation. In particular, “Belarusian State University” informed about the visit of a delegation from the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan. During the meeting, the prospects for expanding academic exchanges, conducting joint research, expert interaction and preparing analytical materials on issues of international politics, regional security, and sustainable development were discussed. The mutual interest of the parties in further strengthening cooperation between the leading analytical and educational centers of the two countries is noted.
Belarusian publications also paid significant attention to the humanitarian agenda. “Minsk News” portal reported that the Days of Culture of Uzbekistan will take place in Belarus in July, featuring a program that will include concerts by master artists, exhibitions, film screenings, presentations of national traditions and meetings between representatives of the creative circles of both countries. It is noted that hosting this large-scale cultural forum will make an important contribution to the further strengthening of friendship, mutual understanding, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation between the peoples of Belarus and Uzbekistan.
