Uzbekistan and Pakistan agree to implement joint educational programs in higher education

ISLAMABAD, January 13. /Dunyo IA/.  Talks were held between the Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Alisher Tukhtaev, Rector of the University of Geological Sciences, Azam Kadirovkhodjaev and Rector of the National University of Science and Technology(NUST), Pakistan, Muhammad Zahid Latif, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Pakistani side was briefed on the comprehensive reforms underway in Uzbekistan, including the prioritization of science, education and the digital economy.

Special attention was given to practical efforts to establish branches and joint faculties of foreign universities on Uzbek territory.

The discussions focused on implementing joint educational programs within Uzbek universities, as well as expanding cooperation in the field of academic mobility for both faculty and students. Particular emphasis was placed on the initiative to establish a faculty of Pakistan’s National University of Science and Technology (NUST) at the University of Geological Sciences, highlighting that this project will serve as an effective platform for further strengthening bilateral cooperation in science and education.

Rector Muhammad Zahid Latif confirmed his institution’s readiness for long-term collaboration with the University of Geological Sciences in both educational and research activities.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed on a visit by a delegation from Pakistan’s National University of Science and Technology to Uzbekistan to practically implement the initiatives discussed.
