GUANGZHOU, June 6. /Dunyo IA/. Diplomats from the General Consulate of Uzbekistan in Guangzhou held a meeting with a delegation from the Chinese city of Zhongshan, led by the heads of the Foreign Affairs Bureau and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Li Youpeng and Lin Zhong, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the talks, the parties discussed the development of interregional cooperation between the regions of Uzbekistan and the city of Zhongshan, the expansion of mutual visits and the effective use of economic diplomacy mechanisms.

Particular attention was paid to preparing the visit of the Zhongshan delegation, led by the deputy mayor, to Uzbekistan, which is scheduled for July this year. The trip is planned to include bilateral meetings, the “Bukhara – Zhongshan: Trade, Economic and Investment Cooperation” business forum, and the signing of a number of agreements.

In addition, agreements were reached to intensify the exchange of business missions between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Fergana region and the CCPIT of Zhongshan, as well as to develop direct contacts between entrepreneurs of the two countries.

Zhongshan is one of the largest industrial and trade centers in Guangdong province, with a population of about 4.5 million people. The leading sectors of the city's economy are the electrical, furniture and textile industries, as well as the production of household appliances.
