NOVOSIBIRSK, August 3. /Dunyo IA/. Consul General of Uzbekistan has presented passports to two compatriots currently residing in a social care facility (House of Mercy) in the capital of Siberia, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

As a result of unfortunate accidents, the citizens, identified as T.U. and S.M., suffered debilitating injuries and, by force of circumstance, found shelter in one of Novosibirsk’s social care institutions.

It should be particularly emphasized that the compatriots were discovered by the Consul General by chance in March 2026 at a social care facility, where they had been residing since 2018. Notably, since 2018, regional social services had never approached the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk regarding the verification of identities or the restoration of the previously lost documents of T.U. and S.M.

Promptly following an urgent visit to the social care facility and individual consultations with the compatriots in March 2026, Consulate General initiated immediate procedures to verify their identity and citizenship, while simultaneously facilitating the issuance of the required Uzbek state documents.

Presently, the future welfare and status of these compatriots remain under the special oversight of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan.
