Investments in the economy of Uzbekistan approached UZS 340 Trillion in the first half of the year

TASHKENT, August 11. /Dunyo IA/. In January–June 2026, UZS 338.9 trillion of investments in fixed capital was utilized from all sources of financing, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Compared with the corresponding period of 2025, the volume of utilized investments increased by 17.5 percent, indicating the continued expansion of the investment base and the implementation of large-scale projects across various sectors of the economy.
According to the National Statistics Committee, manufacturing ranked first in terms of the volume of utilized investments, with UZS 100.5 trillion. It accounted for nearly 30 percent of the total volume of investments in fixed capital.
Significant amounts of funds were also directed to agriculture, forestry and fishing - UZS 32.9 trillion, construction - UZS 32.5 trillion, and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply - UZS 29.9 trillion.
UZS 27.3 trillion was invested in residential construction, UZS 21.8 trillion in mining and quarrying, and UZS 16.3 trillion in transportation and storage.
Notable amounts of investment were also directed to wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles - UZS 13.7 trillion, water supply, sewerage, waste collection and recycling - UZS 7.4 trillion, and education - UZS 7.2 trillion.
UZS 5.8 trillion was directed to information and communication, UZS 5.6 trillion to accommodation and food service activities, UZS 4.6 trillion to professional, scientific and technical activities, and the same amount to human health and social work activities.
Volume of investments in financial and insurance activities amounted to UZS 2.4 trillion, while UZS 2 trillion was invested in arts, entertainment and recreation. Other economic activities accounted for UZS 24.4 trillion.
Thus, the investment flow in Uzbekistan covers a wide range of sectors, from manufacturing, energy and the mining sector to construction, transportation, education, healthcare and the digital economy.
Experts conclude that the investment structure shows that industrial production remains the main area of capital investment in Uzbekistan, while investment activity is increasingly encompassing infrastructure, energy, residential construction and socially significant sectors. The 17.5 percent growth in total investment provides a basis for further expanding production capacity, developing infrastructure and strengthening the country’s economic potential.
