Shanghai hosts the first joint Uzbekistan - China pharmaceutical business symposium

SHANGHAI, April 2. /Dunyo IA/. Diplomats from the Consulate General of Uzbekistan, together with representatives of the “China-Asia” Economic Development Association, organized the first-ever “Uzbekistan –China Pharmaceutical Business Symposium”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The symposium’s significance was highlighted by its practical focus - as a pilot project, representatives of the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency under the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan were invited to the online session.
Zhu Tingbin, Vice President of the China-Asia Economic Development Association (CAEDA), noted Uzbekistan's steady economic growth, the rising standard of living, socio-political stability, and the massive scale of ongoing reforms. Particular attention was paid to the favorable tax policy for foreign investors and Uzbekistan’s active participation in the “One Belt, One Road” initiative. The association's President invited Chinese companies to actively engage in these integration processes.
Diplomats showcased Uzbekistan's economic and investment potential, highlighting key incentives for foreign investors and state support mechanisms.
In his speech, Mirjalol Turaev, Chief Specialist of the Investment Department at the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency, briefed participants on the current state of the country's pharmaceutical industry, the opportunities for operating in free economic zones and promising investment projects.
Marat Mamurov, Head of the Science and Education Department of the agency, gave a detailed presentation on pharmaceutical research and development in Uzbekistan, highlighting the results achieved and the conditions created. He invited interested companies to collaborate on future projects.
Director of the Tashkent Research Institute of Vaccines and Serums Shavkat Azizov presented an overview of the institute’s activities, achievements and working conditions, expressing readiness to develop cooperation with Chinese counterparts.
During the presentation, a preliminary agreement was reached to establish cooperation with a branch of Shanghai University located in the city of Suzhou.
Following the symposium, bilateral B2B meetings were held with the management of leading pharmaceutical companies, including “Wuxi Taxus Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd.”, “SIYI INTELLIGENCE”, “Highend”, “Zhejiang Lini Biotechnology Co. Ltd.” and others. During the negotiations, agreements were reached regarding visits by representatives of the Chinese companies to Uzbekistan to conduct a more detailed market analysis and explore specific investment projects.
