ANKARA, October 3. /Dunyo IA/. Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan held a meeting with Tamer Erdoğan, Provincial Culture and Tourism Director of Trabzon, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, participants discussed opportunities for bilateral cooperation, the tourism potential, and the further development of cultural exchanges. Particular emphasis was placed on increasing tourist flows between Trabzon and Uzbekistan, organizing cultural exchange programs and international conferences, as well as optimizing the tourism potential by upgrading the current seasonal air service between Trabzon and Tashkent to regular scheduled flights.

Organizational aspects regarding the holding of a fair showcasing Uzbek fruits, vegetables, and food products, as well as national concert programs in Trabzon, were also agreed upon.

Cooperation with Trabzon Province in the fields of culture and tourism was recognized as a significant step toward enhancing Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, strengthening interregional collaboration, and further elevating the image of culture and tourism in Turkey.

In particular, it was highlighted that the "roadshow" held in May 2019 in Tashkent, aimed at promoting Trabzon’s cultural and tourism potential, significantly contributed to the further expansion of bilateral relations. According to Tamer Erdoğan, as a result of these efforts, over 10,000 Uzbek tourists visited Trabzon by 2025. Additionally, measures were agreed upon to facilitate the travel of Turkish tourists from Trabzon and neighboring regions to Uzbekistan.

At the conclusion of the meeting, an agreement was reached to ensure the participation of Trabzon Province’s pavilion, featuring a modern and engaging exhibition, at the "Tashkent International Tourism Fair" scheduled to take place in Tashkent from November 27 to 29. This participation will be organized in cooperation with regional tourism companies.
