Islamabad hosts talks on deepening Uzbekistan–Pakistan economic collaboration and joint industrial development

ISLAMABAD, November 21. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, Alisher Tokhtaev, held a meeting with a delegation of Pakistani business representatives led by Usman Shaukat, President of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, the parties reviewed the outcomes of the recent visit of the RCCI-led business delegation to Uzbekistan. The Pakistani side expressed gratitude to the Uzbek Embassy for its support in organizing the business mission, which included a business forum, B2B and B2G meetings, negotiations with the leadership of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, as well as participation in the 36th International Achievement Awards and Business Opportunities Conference held in Tashkent.
Usman Shaukat noted that more than 150 Pakistani entrepreneurs held productive discussions with Uzbek officials and business circles during the visit.
"The delegation addressed numerous issues related to creating the most favorable conditions for Pakistani businesses, developing and implementing joint projects, and expanding cooperation," Shaukat stated. "As a result, more than ten preliminary agreements on joint initiatives were reached. Over twenty Pakistani companies also familiarized themselves with the activities of Tashkent Pharma Park and exchanged views on localizing pharmaceutical production in cooperation with Uzbek partners. We stand ready to further advance any mutually beneficial business initiatives between our countries."
The sides also discussed the expansion of bilateral economic cooperation, including increasing mutual trade to $2 billion, and developing joint production of import-substituting and export-oriented goods.
Both parties agreed to continue holding economic events in Uzbekistan and Pakistan, including regular business forums and business missions, to coordinate and advance concrete joint projects.
