Uzbekistan establishes diplomatic relations with Saint Lucia

NEW YORK, September 11. /Dunyo IA/. Yesterday, in the city of New York, a Joint Communiqué was signed on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Saint Lucia, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The document was signed on behalf of the governments of the two countries by Permanent Representative of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the United Nations, Ulugbek Lapasov, and Permanent Representative of Saint Lucia to the United Nations, Menissa Rambally.
Both sides expressed their readiness to strengthen mutual cooperation within international organizations, including the United Nations and its specialized agencies.
An agreement was reached to intensify bilateral contacts aimed at identifying mutually beneficial areas of cooperation in the political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
The signing of the document marked an important step towards enhancing Uzbekistan’s engagement with the countries of the Caribbean region.
The island nation of Saint Lucia, located in the eastern Caribbean Sea, has become the 163rd country with which Uzbekistan has established diplomatic relations.
It is worth noting that on July 10, 2025, Uzbekistan established diplomatic relations with the African nation of Eritrea.
