China becomes the largest trade partner of Central Asian countries

ТASHKENT, January 19. /Dunyo IA/.  By the end of 2025, economic and trade cooperation between China and Central Asia reached USD 106.3 billion and on January 14, the first flight on a new passenger route from Kashgar, China - to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, is scheduled to take place, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to China’s “Xinhua” News Agency, trade turnover between China and Central Asia increased by 12%. For the first time in history, it surpassed USD 100 billion and has shown positive growth for five consecutive years.

Last year, China became the largest trading partner of the Central Asian countries for the first time. Chinese exports to the region reached USD 71.2 billion, up 11% from the previous year, driven by significant growth in shipments of electromechanical products and high-tech goods. Imports from Central Asia totalled USD 35.1 billion, marking a 14% year-on-year increase.

Cross-border e-commerce trade between China and Central Asia continued to grow rapidly. The development of warehousing and logistics infrastructure progressed steadily, while cooperation in cross-border payment systems expanded actively, according to the report.
